On the fourth anniversary of a coup attempt in Turkey, a group gathered Wednesday in front of the compound of the mastermind of the putsch in the US state of Pennsylvania.

The Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) and its US-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the July 15, 2016 defeated coup, which left 251 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.

Gulen has lived in self-exile in the United States near Saylorsburg since 1999.

Digital LED trucks displaying anti-coup messages and several civilian cars toured the outside of the mansion in protest of the terror group, as part of a campaign by Turkish American National Steering Committee (TASC).

A plane also flew a banner above the mansion that read “Stop Terrorist FETO Org.”

“We have never forgotten heinous July 15 coup attempt and will never let it be forgotten,” according to the organization’s co-chair, Halil Mutlu.

Trucks with screens displaying “July 15, Victory of Turkish Democracy” and “Victory of Turkish Nation” toured Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens in New York City, Washington, DC and also Saylorsburg on Tuesday,.

Turkey also accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police and judiciary.

July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day is a public holiday in Turkey, marked with events to commemorate those who lost their lives defeating the deadly coup attempt.
