In a new poll pitting Istanbul competitors Fenerbahce versus Galatasaray, the Yellow Canaries beat the Lions by a mile.
The Wednesday Twitter poll by FIFA, world football’s governing body, asked fans which powerhouse team has the more passionate fans, Fenerbahce or Galatasaray, longtime cross-town rivals.
After over 1.57 million people cast their votes, the result was not close: Fenerbahce won hands down with 57.3%, while Galatasaray trailed with just 42.7%.
The lopsided showing seems sure to add fuel to the fire the next time the teams face off in a derby match, when virus fears have ended and fans can cheer their favorite side from the stands.
