ANKARA

European stock exchanges closed Wednesday with strong gains for a second consecutive day after suffering their worst single-day drop in three months on Monday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, soared 7.77 points, or 1.69%, to close at 467.36 on Wednesday.

London’s FTSE 100 increased 98.6 points, or 1.34%, to end at 7,470.

Germany’s DAX 30 performed the best at Wednesday close, going up 331.3 points, or 2.19%, to close at 15,455, while France’s CAC 40 surged 144 points, or 2.11%, to 6,982.

Italy’s FTSE MIB 30 was the other best performer of the day, jumping 571.11 points, or 2.19%, to close at 26,600.

Spain’s IBEX 35 rose 138 points, or 1.63%, to finish at 8,617.
