The president of the European Commission on behalf of Europe asked for an apology from Italy for not sufficiently helping the country at the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak.
In her speech at the European Parliament’s plenary session, Ursula von der Leyen admitted that “no one was really ready” for the crisis in Europe.
