ANKARA

Damien Comolli, Turkish football club Fenerbahce’s former sporting director, was appointed as chairman of French Ligue 2 club Toulouse FC on Monday.

The appointment was confirmed as US investment company RedBird Capital Partners acquired a 85% stake in the French club.

Former chairman Olivier Sadran, meanwhile, will retain 15% stake.

Toulouse were relegated to the second-tier league after Ligue 1’s 2019-2020 season ended in April due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Comolli, 47, has worked for several clubs: Monaco, Saint-Etienne, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Fenerbahce as scout and sporting director.

He remained with the Yellow Canaries from June 2018 to January 2020.
