ISTANBUL (AA) – Strong measures Turkey has taken to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus outbreak as well as its solid public health system and generous social assistance schemes have made the country a model for many others in the fight against the deadly virus.

COVID-19 outbreak was first detected on December 12, 2019, in Wuhan in Hubei province of China. It was later declared a “pandemic” by the World Health Organization.
