Ukraine registered 4,140 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the caseload to 226,462, the health minister announced on Sunday.
Maxim Stepanov said the virus-linked death toll rose to 4,397 as 44 more people succumbed to the novel disease.
As many as 1,370 patients also recovered, raising the tally to 100,107.
Meanwhile, Petro Poroshenko, the country’s former president, was hospitalized with pneumonia, five days after he tested positive.
COVID-19 cases, related deaths, and recoveries were also confirmed in other Eurasian and Central Asian countries.
With 554 new additions, the caseload in Grorgia reached 8,159.
The death toll reached 50 with two more fatalities, while 252 new recoveries pushed the tally to 4,244.
As many as 280 more people contracted the virus, bringing the total to 58,421. Virus-linked fatalities rose to 476 with three new deaths.
Some 45 people also regained health, taking the total recoveries to 54,854.
More than 3,000 people are going through treatment in the former Soviet republic.
The Health Ministry in Kazakhstan confirmed that the number of cases rose to 108,177, with 71 additions over the past 24 hours.
With the recovery of 95 patients, recoveries reached 103,205.
The death toll rose to 1,743 as three more people lost their lives.
Kyrgyzstan diagnosed 244 more people with the virus, while 140 recovered, bringing the total 47,428 and 43,418 respectively.
Nearly 2,500 people are receiving treatment, whereas 1,066 have passed away.
