Health authorities in Gulf countries on Thursday registered more coronavirus cases and deaths.     

Saudi Arabia 

In a statement, the Health Ministry said it registered 450 virus cases, 18 deaths and 474 recoveries over the past 24 hours.  

The total number of cases in the kingdom rose to 349,386, including 5,489 deaths, and 336,068 recoveries.  

UAE 

The UAE’s Health Ministry said it reported 1,289 new virus cases, three deaths and 135 recoveries over the past day. 

Thursday’s figure pushed the total number of cases to 138,599 — including 508 deaths and 136,118 recoveries.  

Oman 

The country recorded 320 new cases, 11 deaths, and 465 recoveries over the past 24 hours. 

The total number of cases in the country rose to 117,167 cases — including 1,286 deaths and 107,368 recoveries.  

Kuwait 

The Health Ministry in Kuwait registered 795 cases of the novel coronavirus, five deaths and 822 recoveries. 

Thursday’s figures pushed the total number of cases to 129,638 — including 799 deaths and 120,564 recoveries.  

Qatar

The country reported 249 cases of the virus and 266 recoveries over the past 24 hours. 

The ministry said the total number of cases surged to 133,619, including 232 deaths and 130,680 recoveries. 

Since originating in China last December, the pandemic has claimed nearly 1.23 million lives in 188 countries and regions. 

More than 48.46 million cases have been reported worldwide, while over 32.03 million patients have recovered so far, according to figures compiled by the US’ Johns Hopkins University.
