The number of Infections and fatalities from the novel coronavirus continued to rise across Eurasian countries on Tuesday.
The number of COVID-19 cases climbed to 27,856 in Ukraine, as 394 more people tested positive over the last 24 hours, the country’s Health Ministry said in a statement.
According to the statement, the number of deaths rose by 13 reaching 810, and the recoveries increased by 217 to 12,412.
The most affected regions in Ukraine were Chernivtsi city in western Ukraine, and the capital Kiev, it added.
In Central Asian country of Kazakhstan, the number of cases rose by 215, bringing the total to 13,074, registering a 1.7% increase.
At least two people died of the coronavirus over the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 58. As of Tuesday, over 7,700 people have recovered in the country.
In Uzbekistan, 44 more people contracted the virus, raising the tally to 4,448.
With one fatality reported since last day, a total of 18 people have died to date, and 3,357 patients have recovered.
The country’s Health Ministry said a total of 1,073 people were receiving treatment, and the condition of eight patients was critical.
The country has so far carried out 750,000 coronavirus tests, while 45,000 people remain under surveillance.
Kyrgyzstan reported 23 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the country’s total to 2,055, according to Deputy Health Minister Nurbolot Usenbayev.
The number of recoveries reached 1,483 in the country, while one person lost his life, he added.
The treatment of 548 people continues, and some 2,000 people are kept under surveillance in hospitals, while 8,592 people are in home quarantine.
A total of 328 Kyrgyz citizens were evacuated from Turkey with a Turkish Airlines charter plane.
Georgia reported eight new cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the tally to 821.
To date, 13 people have died and 686 people recovered from the disease.
As many as 249 people were under surveillance in various hospitals, and 2,902 people were kept in quarantine.
According to Armenian Health Ministry data, the number of coronavirus cases increased to 13,675, as 350 people caught COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.
The country’s deaths tally climbed by six over the past day, reaching 217.
In Armenia, where 71,405 tests have been performed so far, a total of 4,451 patients have recovered and the treatment of 8,933 patients continues.
Over 7.14 million cases have been reported in 188 countries and regions since the virus emerged in China last December.
The US, Brazil, and Russia and several European states are currently the hardest-hit countries in the world.
The pandemic has claimed over 407,000 lives worldwide, while recoveries are now over 3.31 million, according to figures compiled by the US’ Johns Hopkins University.
