The total number of coronavirus cases in Southeast Asian countries reached 246,536 on Monday, including 7,001 fatalities and 142,811 recoveries.
As many as 3,665 more cases and 73 deaths were recorded in member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations over the past day.
Indonesia, the worst-hit country in the region, reported 57 fatalities, bringing the nationwide death toll to 4,838.
The number of cases in the country climbed to 100,303 with 1,525 additions, while recoveries rose by 1,518 to reach 58,173.
The Philippines reported 16 more virus-related fatalities, raising the country’s death toll to 1,945.
The number of infections in the country increased by 1,657 to hit 82,040, while recoveries reached 26,446.
In Singapore, 469 new cases were registered over the past 24 hours, bringing the tally to 50,838, while the death toll in the country stands at 27.
Malaysia confirmed seven more cases of COVID-19, taking the total number to 8,904, while recoveries reached 8,601 and the death toll remained at 124.
In Thailand, four new cases took the total to 3,295, while the country has so far registered 3,111 recoveries.
Myanmar confirmed one more infection, bringing the overall count to 350, while a total of 290 patients have recovered.
Vietnam reported two new infections, raising the total number of cases to 420.
The number of recoveries in the country reached 366, while no fatality has been reported in the country to date.
Meanwhile, there have been no reports of new infections or fatalities in Brunei Darussalam, Laos and Cambodia.
