ANKARA
Health authorities in three Arab countries reported new deaths and cases due to the novel coronavirus on Monday.
In a statement, Morocco’s Health Ministry said three people had died from the virus, bringing the nationwide death toll to 177.
The ministry said 97 new cases were detected over the past 24 hours, raising the number of COVID-19 infections to 5,000. A total of 1,565 people have recovered from the disease.
Qatar’s Health Ministry said 640 more coronavirus cases were recorded in the Gulf state, bringing the overall figure to 16,191.
A total of 12 people have died from the virus, while 1,810 people have recovered so far, the ministry said.
The Lebanese Health Ministry also confirmed three more coronavirus cases, bringing the total to 740.
The ministry said 25 people have died from the disease, while 205 people recovered from the illness.
The virus has killed more than 248,500 people worldwide, with the total number of infections over 3.52 million. Meanwhile, over 1.13 million people have recovered from the disease, according to figures compiled by US-based Johns Hopkins University.
