A Colombian cyclist was handed a four-year ban after failing in a doping test, international cycling’s governing body UCI said on Wednesday.

“The [anti-doping] Tribunal found the rider [Jarlinson Pantano Gomez] guilty of an anti-doping rule violation (presence of Recombinant Erythropoietin) and imposed a 4-year period of ineligibility on the rider,” the UCI said in a statement.

Pantano, 31, ended his professional career in June 2019.

So, his ban will be valid until 2023.

Pantano was the stage 15 winner in the 2016 Tour de France while he was pedaling for the Swiss-based IAM Cycling team.
