Brazilian health officials on Thursday confirmed 133 deaths due to the novel coronavirus, in the last 24 hours while Peru reported an additional 14.
In Brazil, the additional deaths brought the total in the country to 121, while the number of infections rose to 15,927, and 667 people recovered.
The 210 million-strong nation is one of the worst-hit countries in Latin America by the virus and was the first to report a COVID-19-related fatality.
In Peru, the Health Ministry reported that the number of virus cases has risen to 4,342, with a death toll of 121.
