Turkey’s benchmark stock index started the day at 1,156.04 points on Wednesday, up 0.29% or 3.34 points.
At Tuesday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index decreased 3.59% at 1,152.70 points with a daily trading volume of 23.7 billion Turkish liras ($3.44 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 6.9370 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared to 6.9620 at previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also decreased to 8.1570 from 8.1730 while British pound traded for 8.9860 Turkish liras, down from 9.1400.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $43.75 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
