ANKARA
Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,533.43 points on Friday, down 0.3% or 4.61 points from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Thursday at 1,538.04 points, with a daily trading volume of 25.9 billion Turkish liras ($3.5 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 7.5300 from 7.4150 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT).
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also climbed to 9,0000 from 8.9230, while one British pound traded for 10,4900 on Friday, versus 10.3910 at Thursday’s close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $67.81 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
