Bangladesh reported 112 new cases of the novel coronavirus Thursday — a single-day record that brought the country’s total number of infections to 330.

The country recorded its first case on March 8.

Meanwhile, a top businessman died from the coronavirus late Thursday at a hospital in the capital Dhaka, the president of the country’s leading business association confirmed.

“We are deeply grieved at the sad demise of Mr. Mohammad Taslim Akhter, chairman of Prince Garments (Pvt). Ltd. He died of COVID-19 today at the Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Hospital at 3:30 p.m. [0930GMT]. Please pray for the salvation
