Atletico Madrid stay top of table with Suarez's goal

Atletico Madrid remain top of La Liga with Luis Suarez’s late winner against Alaves on Sunday.

Marcos Llorente gave a 1-0 lead to visitors in the 44th minute but Alaves equalized the game with Felipe’s own goal in the 84th minute.

Luis Suarez’s stoppage time goal secured a 2-1 win for Atletico Madrid to stay top of the table.

Alaves’ Victor Laguardia was shown a red card in the 63rd minute.

Atletico Madrid increased their points to 38 in 15 games, two points ahead of the second-placed Real Madrid.

Alaves collected 18 points to be in 13th spot.
