Atletico Madrid beat Besiktas 2-0 in Women's Day match

ISTANBUL

The women’s football teams of Besiktas and Atletico Madrid played a friendly game in the Turkish metropolis Istanbul on Saturday in celebration of International Women’s Day. 

The Spanish club beat the Turkish side 2-0 at Vodafone Arena for International Women’s Day, with goals from Pena Ruiz in the 37th minute and Olga Garcia in the 42nd minute.

Some 33,000 fans, mostly women and children, watched the game in the stadium.

Turkey’s Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Kasapoglu presented the trophy to the captains of both teams.
