EDIRNE, Turkey

Armenia on Monday declared a state of emergency over coronavirus countrywide until April 16, according to the Armenian Health Ministry.

So far, there have been 30 confirmed cases of coronavirus, and one of them was discharged from hospital after recovering from the virus, Arsen Torosyan, the country’s health minister, said.

According to local media, 130 people are currently in quarantine in the city of Etchmiadzin, 20 kilometers (12.4 miles) from the capital Yerevan.

The novel coronavirus known as COVID-19 emerged in Wuhan, China last December, and the World Health Organization has declared the outbreak a pandemic.
