Algeria and Yemen reported more coronavirus deaths and cases Thursday.
Algeria’s Health Ministry said nine more people died over the past 24 hours, taking the country’s tally to 741.
Around 105 more people were diagnosed with COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, and the total number of cases reached 10,589.
Another 180 people have recovered, with the total number of recoveries reaching 7,254, it added.
In Yemen, the death toll reached 136 with seven more fatalities over the past day, according to the country’s national committee against the virus.
It said 31 new cases have been registered in the country, taking the tally to 591.
The number of recoveries stands at 23.
After originating in Wuhan, China last December, COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, has spread to 188 countries and regions, with Europe and the US currently the worst hit.
The pandemic has killed nearly 421,000 people worldwide, with the total number of infections surpassing 7.5 million, while over 3.53 million people have recovered from the disease, according to figures compiled by US-based Johns Hopkins University.
