The UN’s climate body postponed Friday the forthcoming Africa Climate Week 2020 amid growing concerns about coronavirus.

The UN Climate Change, said the five-day meeting slated for the end of April in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, was delayed in line with advice from the UN Department of Safety and Security.

“The UN Climate Change secretariat, in close collaboration with all the other organizing partners, has decided to put Africa Climate Week in Kampala on hold. This is to ensure the health and safety of all participants in light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19),” it said.
