ANKARA - Justice Minister Cemil Cicek said on Sunday that Turkey would discuss the conditions of the demands from Turkey with those who made such demands in the coming days.
When reporters asked Cicek if Turkey's sending troops to Iraq would be in question, Cicek said that this issue didn't come to the agenda of the government.
Cicek said that Turkey sent soldiers to many countries for installation of peace and stability, adding that there were Turkish soldiers in Bosnia, Kosovo, in Palestine (as observer), Afghanistan and in many other parts of the world. ''They completed their mission successfully in those countries,'' said Cicek.
Cicek stressed that Turkey, from the beginning, wanted peace to prevail in Iraq, adding ''unfortunately there has been a negative development. But we hope that this pain won't last long. If Turkey is going to have a positive contribution to a neighbouring country, it can positively regard such demands in line with its traditional policy. Yet this will have certain conditions. We will discuss such conditions with the ones who make such demands from Turkey.''
