EDIRNE - Bulgaria's Consul General in Edirne Georgi Dimov said on Saturday that they prepared 22 dossiers regarding historical works of art and immovables in Thrace and stated that they would start to restore Sveti Georgi Church this year.
Dimov told the A.A correspondent that they could be owners of those foundations in Turkey according to regulation on foundations of religious community under the European Union (EU) adjustment laws.
Stating that they prepared 22 dossiers on works of art and immovables in Thrace, Dimov said that there were six immovables including church, cemetery and buildings in Edirne province, two immovables in Kirklareli and other immovables in Istanbul.
Dimov stated that they made official applications to relevant places for the Foundation of Bulgaria Orthodox Community to possess those immovables and added that they could protect better those immovables when they got their title deeds.
Noting that they gave a project for restoration of Sveti Georgi Church to Edirne Foundations Directorate General in 2001, Dimov said that they had enough money for it.
Dimov said that they launched a campaign in Bulgaria for restoration of the church and added that they would start works when they got legal permission for restoration.
