NEVSEHIR - Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc said on Sunday, ''what will happen in Iraq in coming days concerns Turkey.''
Responding questions of journalists in central province of Nevsehir, Arinc said, ''we all knew what has been happening in Iraq. We hope that recent developments will not cause a serious change in our geography. Also, we hope that incidents in Iraq will not spread to other countries. We wish that Iraq's territorial integrity will be protected in a regime to be chosen by Iraqi people.''
Noting that what would happen in Iraq in coming days concerned Turkey, Arinc said, ''we have been sharing the same geography for centuries. There have been historical, religious and cultural ties between Turkey and Iraq. We wish that peoples in our region will continue to live together in peace. Turkey will continue to make political and economic contributions to this end. Our government has been expending great efforts. We all wish that peace will be settled in Iraq as soon as possible.''
