SILOPI - Iraqi National Turkmen Party Founder Chairman Muzaffer Arslan said on Saturday that Turkmen waited for what would happen in horror and concern.
Arslan held a news conference in Silopi township in southeastern Sirnak province, and pointed out that saddening incidents occurred recently in Kirkuk. He said some sides made use of lack of authority and tried to put pressure on Turkmen.
Stating that Turkmen always preferred peaceful ways, and defended integrity of Iraq people, Arslan said they got the tip off that houses of some Turkmen in Kirkuk were raided, and that there were casualties on those attacks.
Arslan said some settlement places of Turkmen were destroyed, and that Turkmen wait what would happen in horror and concern. He said the demolished buildings are the future and richness of this country. Arslan said those buildings belonged to Iraq people, and that everybody would need this property.
Arslan said necessary measures should be taken urgently.
