ANKARA - The State Institute of Statistics (DIE) said on Tuesday that the industrial output increased 4.4 percent in February of 2003 over to the same month of the previous year from the result of the monthly industrial production index.
Releasing a statement, DIE announced the result of the monthly industrial production index using production information of 403 the most important items in February of 2003 taking 1997 as base year.
DIE declared that manufacturing industry production increased by 5.0 percent; mining industry production decreased by 22.4 percent; electricity, gas and water production increased by 11.9 percent in February of 2003, over to the same period of the previous year.
The statement said that total industrial production increased by 9.2 percent; mining industry decreased by 16.0 percent; manufacturing industry increased by 10.9 percent; and electricity, gas and water industry increased by 7.0 percent in first two months of 2003, over to the same period of the previous year.
