Sener: Government's Policy On War In Iraq Is Very Appropriate

ISTANBUL - State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullatif Sener said late on Saturday that the government's policy on war in Iraq was a very appropriate and right policy.
Replying to questions of reporters, Sener said that the policy which Turkey was carrying out regarding war in Iraq was the most appropriate one for the future of 70 million people living in this country.
Upon a question, Sener said that the world public opinion had a great sensitivity on war in Iraq and stated that Turkey has not been involved this war.
Sener said that Turkey backed sensitivities of the world public opinion and noted, ''this is an attitude which Turkey should assume as an independent country having a sound democracy, and Turkey assumed it. However, an approach which claims that after it assumed this attitude, Turkey-U.S. relations spoiled is wrong. Turkey's political attitude on that issue was respected by Europe, third world and the United States. Turkey is a key country in the region.''
