Eroglu: Greek Cypriots Don't Have Good Will

LEFKOSA - Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu said on Thursday that Greek Cypriot side's rejection of TRNC President Rauf Denktas's six-article proposal package showed that Greek Cypriot side did not have good will.
Eroglu told reporters that ''Turkish Cypriot people's initiative started by thinking that peoples of two states on this island should have good intentions towards each other and good neighboring relations, has thus been rejected by Greek Cypriot side.''
''This shows that Greek Cypriots' mentality not to give Turkish Cypriot people the right to live has not changed so far,'' he stated.
Eroglu said that the world should take into account carefully the good will initiative of Turkish Cypriot people and diagnose well who in fact the intransigent side was.
''Our proposal is not a text which targets an agreement, but an initiative by thinking that peoples of two states on this island should have good intentions and good neighboring relations. However, we see that mentality in the South has not changed foreseeing continuation of embargoes imposed on us, and not giving Turkish Cypriots on the Island the right to live. This refusal without even examining properly our proposal is a sign of this mentality,'' Eroglu added.
