Erdogan And Gul To Leave For Belgrade To Participate In Balkan Summit

ANKARA - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul will go to Belgrade to participate in 6th summit of the Southeastern Europe Countries Cooperation Process that would take place on April 9.
Foreign Ministry issued a statement and said Erdogan and Gul will meet with the foreign ministers of countries which are side to the process prior to the Balkan summit.
Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, and Romania will participate in the meeting. Besides those countries, Croatia will attend in observer status, and Moldova in special guest status.
Some international institutions will also be represented in the summit.
Bosnia-Herzegovina will take over term presidency from Serbia and Montenegro during the summit.
High level contacts are expected to take place among the participants during the summit.
Turkey had contribution in foundation and development of the Southeastern Europe Countries Cooperation Process which has the position of the only Balkan cooperation forum reflecting joint will of the region.
The process has critical importance in today's international conditions to preserve and strengthen peace and stability in the Balkans.
