Iraqi Foreign Minister Suggests Turkey To Cooperate To Send Aggressors Away From Region

BAGHDAD - Iraqi Foreign Minister Naji Sabri said on Tuesday that relations between Turkey and Iraq went back to history and suggested Turkey ''to cooperate to send the aggressors away from the region.''
Sabri told A.A correspondent that relations between the two countries were not influenced by the incidents which occurred in the region throughout the history.
Brotherhood, regional and cultural relations between the two people had not been shaken, Sabri said.
Sabri said that as long as the bilateral relations became stronger, the regional security would be setter.
They had many proofs about that issue, Sabri noted. He said that ''commercial, cultural and political relations between the two countries were very developed before the cruel embargo imposed on Iraq.''
Sabri recalled the 1991 Gulf War and said that ''there was no security at Iraq-Turkey border during those days, trade between the two countries collapsed and Turkey lost billions of U.S. dollars due to the embargo imposed on Iraq and the aggression.''
Touching on the ''unique aggression'' of the United States and Britain on Iraq, Sabri said that ''this aggression was against international resolutions and the U.N. charter.''
Sabri said that ''the United States wanted to include Turkish government in that aggression and neighbor, friend and Muslim Turkish people in a war, the result of which was unknown.''
''They would continue their war until they send away the aggressors from their lands,'' Sabri said.
