ANKARA - Turkey's foreign debt stock increased 17.6 billion U.S. dollars to 131.6 billion U.S. dollars as of December 31, 2002 when compared with 2001.
A statement of the Treasury Undersecretariat said that short term foreign debts decreased 1.1 billion U.S. dollars while medium and long term foreign debts increased 18.7 billion U.S. dollars in 2002.
The share of short term foreign debts in the total foreign debt stock was 12 percent and that of the medium and long term foreign debts was 88 percent as of the end of 2002.
