Ambassadors Of E.U. Countries Informed About Turkey's Northern Iraq Policy

ANKARA - Foreign Ministry Deputy Undersecretary Ali Tuygan informed on Wednesday the ambassadors of European Union (EU) countries to Turkey about Turkey's Northern Iraq policy and conditions for sending soldiers to Northern Iraq.
Sources said that Tuygan met with the ambassadors of EU countries to Turkey in the Greek Embassy in Ankara in the morning upon the request of the EU.
Recalling that Turkey might send soldiers to the region due to migration, border security and terrorism concerns, Tuygan drew the attention that Turkey did not have any secret agenda.
Meanwhile, sources said that U.S. President George W. Bush's envoy for Iraq Zalmay Khalilzad would go to Northern Iraq in the evening or Thursday's morning and inform the Kurdish groups about his contacts in Ankara.
Negotiations between Turkish officials and Khalilzad will resume either on Friday or Saturday according to the date when the U.S. envoy returns to Turkey.
