ANKARA - Iraqi Ambassador in Ankara Talib Abid Salih said on Tuesday that Turkey does not have any benefit in entering Iraq, stating that this would contradict with friendship.
Salih visited Felicity Party (SP) Chairman Recai Kutan.
Salih stated that this was the sixth day of occupation of Iraq, noting that Iraqi people continued resistance against the occupiers.
Claiming that the occupying forces were defeated just at the beginning and that all the world saw this, Salih said the ''occupation'' did not have any basis with respect to international law.
Salih said the situation in Iraq was a human tragedy and a fight for rights, adding that all Moslems should support Iraqi people.
Stating that supporting Iraqi people would mean supporting their own future and interests, Salih said humanity would enter a new American slavery in case the United States seizes the region as a whole.
Meanwhile, SP leader Kutan said it was seen that Iraqi people was involved in a heroic fighting to protect their country, noting that the United States and Britain were in a shock.
Kutan said United States and Britain, who accused Iraq of not abiding by the U.N. resolutions, themselves opposed to the U.N. resolutions.
Kutan called on the U.N., European Union and OIC to stop the ''ugly and unjust war'' in Iraq.
Kutan said that Iraq would come out of that struggle with victory and that success would belong to not only Iraq but also to whole Middle East.
When asked to evaluate the position of Turkish government, Salih claimed that the smallest assistance to occupier forces would mean being beside the enemies.
Salih said that the planes which took off from Britain bombed Iraq by using Turkish airspace and this gave big damage to Iraqi people.
Iraqi people were sad and bewildered about use of Turkish airspace this way, Salih noted.
Salih asked Turkish government to review its decision about opening its airspace to foreign planes.
When asked if there was a demand from Turkey for his deportation, Salih said that such a demand was not made.
Salih said that Turkey was at the stage of reviewing its decision to close its embassy in Iraq.
Asked about his views on entrance of Turkish soldiers in Northern Iraq, Salih said that Turkey did not have any benefit in entering Iraq due to friendly relations between the two countries.
Salih noted that some adverse things could occur if Turkey entered Iraq and it would not match with friendship.
What Turkey was feared of could happen maybe after the occupier forces ruled Iraq, Salih said.
Salih said that if Turkey wanted to be sure of issues it had reservations, it had to take place beside Iraq.
Thus, issues it was feared of would not happen, Salih noted.
Salih said that entrance of any foreign force in Iraqi territory was not appropriate whatever its name or pretext was.
