ANKARA - Iraq will continue its payments to Turkish firms despite the war.
Turkish firms said that the Iraqi side would pay totally 4.36 million U.S. dollars to the firms.
Turkish firms set up many business links in Iraq as a result of the contacts held there within the scope of Turkey's strategy to increase its exports to neighboring countries.
While the position of the Turkish firms working in Iraq in many fields became uncertain after the beginning of the war in Iraq, the latter said that its payments to Turkish firms would continue.
Within the scope of the permission got from the U.N. Sanctions Committee, Iraq will continue its payments to Turkish firms.
