Dimov: Hamzabeyli - Lesova Border Gates To Bring Prosperity To Region

EDIRNE - Bulgarian Consul General in Edirne Georgi Dimov said on Sunday that the opening of the border gate between Hamzabeyli and Lesova would bring prosperity and liveliness to the region.
Speaking to A.A correspondent, Dimov said that infrastructure studies continued to open Hamzabeyli border gate in Lalapasa town as soon as possible, and that one or two buildings will be constructed at Lesova Border Gate in Bulgaria. ''When that border gate opens, the land transportation between Turkey and Bulgaria and from Turkey to Romania will shorten. We continue constructing the road at Malkotrnova Border Gate which is opposite to Derekoy Border Gate in Kýrklareli province. We think to open that road next year. The passage of TIRs from the region will be easier by the opening of that road,'' he said.
Recalling that Edirne is the door of Turkey opening to Europe, Dimov said that ''there is no heavy industry in Edirne, there is no need for that. Edirne has agriculture, a big university and tourism.''
