NTV- The Turkish Armed Forces, in a statement issued on Friday, denied claims that Turkish tanks had entered neighbouring northern Iraq.
Reports appeared on some foreign news networks that the Turkish Armed Forces had deployed troops and armoured vehicles in Northern Iraq. The statement said that the Turkish forces were waiting and were ready to meet any possible developments but that their forces remained on the Turkish side of the border.
Military sources said that they did not have any information over reports that American soldiers were being flown into the Northern Iraqi city of Zaho.
Ankara has voiced concerns of the establishment of an independent Kurdish state in the region and on Thursday the Turkish parliament authorised the deployment of Turkish troops to Northern Iraq.
