TURKEY ENTERS NORTHERN IRAQ
The paper says Turkish soldiers entered Northern Iraq from Hakkari province last night and that the Turkish air corridor was opened to U.S. planes and missiles. Last evening Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul announced that Turkish soldiers would enter Northern Iraq. Later it was stated that one thousand Turkish soldiers crossed the border from Hakkari province. Moreover Turkey permitted the U.S. and British planes to fly via Turkey. The planes will follow the route of Iskenderun-Mardin. In cases of emergency, the planes will follow the route of ''Istanbul-Trabzon-Mardin.''

SECRET DECREE SIGNED
The secret governmental decree on opening of air corridor was signed by the Council of Ministers last morning and it was announced when the U.S. planes bombed Baghdad last night.

WE ENTER NORTHERN IRAQ
A crisis emerged between Turkey and the U.S. regarding the implementation of the motion adopted by the Turkish Parliament. When the U.S. told Turkey that ''Turkish soldiers should not enter Northern Iraq,'' Turkey didn't open its airspace. The bargaining lasted till evening. Prime Minister Erdogan called U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell following the first big attack on Baghdad and told him that ''Turkey opened its airspace, and we want to enter Northern Iraq.'' Around 00.30 local time, it was stated that 1000 Turkish soldiers entered Northern Iraq from Cukurca. The troop crossed the border to support activities of humanitarian aid.

IMF ASKS FOR POLITICAL COMMITMENT
IMF asked Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to issue a statement for the public opinion saying that the government would continue to abide by the economic programme. Prime Minister Erdogan will address the public opinion on Sunday.

EU SUPPORT TO TURKEY
European Union (EU) promised to give economic aid to Turkey which could not get financial aid from the U.S. Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said that he discussed the details of that economic assistance with Germany and France, during his contacts in Brussels.

MOODY'S:REJECTION OF U.S. ASSISTANCE IS NOT END OF ROAD
International credit rating institution Moody's which warned Turkey ten days ago that if Turkey missed the opportunity to get economic assistance package from the U.S, its credit mark could decrease, announced yesterday that it postponed taking a decision about Turkey. David Levey, Executive Director of Moody's Investment Service said that the withdrawal of the economic assistance package by the U.S. was not the end of the road for Turkey.

NORTHERN IRAQ PROBLEM COULD NOT BE SOLVED
Turkey opened its airspace to the U.S. in order not to further escalate the ''crisis of trust'' with the U.S. The government decided to open its airspace as a first step of improving the relations with the U.S. Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said yesterday that Turkey would enter Northern Iraq to protect its interests.

ATTACK ON IRAQ PROTESTED
The feast of Nevruz was celebrated by many activities in Turkey yesterday. Security Directorate said that 66 persons were taken into custody in Bingol, Diyarbakýr, Mardin and Sýrnak provinces during the celebrations which were held in 39 provinces. The U.S. attack against Iraq was also protested during the celebrations.

TURKEY DOES NOT DEPORT IRAQIS
Another element that escalated the tension between Turkey and the U.S. has been the demand of the U.S. which asked Turkey to send all personnel of the Iraqi Embassy in Ankara back to Iraq. The demand was conveyed one week ago. Turkey responded to the U.S. saying that there was no reason to close the embassy unless Iraq wanted to close it.

GUL:WE HAVE COOPERATION WITH U.S.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said in a news conference before leaving Brussels for Turkey that ''Turkey does not have an eye on Northern Iraq. The territorial integrity of Iraq is important for Turkey... We make cooperation with the U.S. The motion we adopted at the parliament has met the recent demands of the U.S. We attribute importance to relations between the U.S. and Turkey.''

TURKEY OPENS ITS AIRSPACE
Turkey decided to open its airspace yesterday which caused a crisis in the relations with the U.S. following the adoption of the second motion. National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul said that the decision was taken as it was in line with Turkey's national interests.

TURKEY IS SAFE
U.S. tourists in Turkey who didn't ignore the warning of the U.S. government which requested American citizens to leave Turkey, said that Turkey was a safe country. U.S. citizens who came to Istanbul from New York said that particularly the western parts of Turkey was very safe, adding that they were against the war.

STUDENTS OF METU PROTEST WAR
Students studying in the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara protested the intervention of the U.S. against Iraq. Students who convened at 13.00 local time in METU Campus walked to Eskisehir Highway and tried to stop the traffic in the highway. Gendarme teams didn't allow them to close the traffic. Students issued a press release and protested the U.S. operation.
