ANKARA - The Parliamentary General Assembly approved on Thursday the prime ministry motion on sending Turkish troops abroad and opening Turkish airspace to foreign armed forces' planes.
A total of 535 deputies attended the vote at the Parliamentary General Assembly.
The prime ministry motion was approved by 332 votes against 202. A deputy cast abstaining vote.
The Justice and Development Party (AK Party) has 365 seats at the parliament while, the Republican People's Party (CHP) has 177 and the True Path Party (DYP) has 3. There are five independent deputies.
Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc does not have the right to cast his vote in accordance with the Constitution.
