ANKARA - Central Bank said on Thursday that it started to implement measures, which were taken to decrease possible negative impacts of the military action against Iraq on markets.
Central Bank issued a statement and said the measures which were taken to decrease to the minimum the possible negative impacts of the military action against Iraq on markets, to preserve the acquisitions obtained to provide price stability, and to maintain the stability of financial system, mainly the banks, took effect as of this morning.
The statement stressed that liquidity level of Turkish Lira money markets could meet the need of the financial system, yet that Central Bank would provide necessary liquidity in case there is a need in the market for additional Turkish Lira liquidity.
