ANKARA - U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Robert Pearson visited Thursday the Foreign Ministry to meet with Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Ugur Ziyal.
Pearson did not release any statement to reporters as he came to the Ministry.
Meanwhile, Foreign Ministry was not informed that the United States would launch the operation early on Thursday.
Upon questions of reporters, an official from the Foreign Ministry said that the ministry did not receive any information and he did not know whether the United States informed any other institution.
Noting that the operation of the United States was intensified in the south of Iraq, the official said that Kirkuk-Yumurtalik pipeline was open at the moment and they did not consider to close it. He added that Habur border gate had been close for a while and the preparations against a possible migration wave were completed.
Diplomatic sources said that they could make some arrangements for the security of civil flights if airspace would be opened to aircrafts of foreign armed forces in accordance with the motion which was submitted to Parliament.
