ANKARA - A group of 100 members of the Labor Union of Public Workers (Kamu-Sen) held a demonstration in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to protest Turkish flag's being set on fire in demonstrations in northern Iraq.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Kamu-Sen Chairman Bircan Akyildiz noted that both Patriotic Union of Iraqi Kurdistan (PUK) leader Jalal Talabani and Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) leader Massoud Barzani had made some statements recently by overstepping the limits.
''As you know, Turkish flag was set on fire during the demonstrations in northern Iraq. It is totally unacceptable. Those, who insulted Turkish flag, will get the necessary response,'' he said.
Meanwhile, members of the Kamu-Sen chanted slogans against Talabani and Barzani.
Later, Akyildiz met with Ministry of Foreign Affairs Deputy Undersecretary Ahmet Ertay and presented him a poster of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and a Turkish flag.
