Closure Case Filed Against 7 Political Parties

ANKARA - Supreme Court of Appeals Chief Prosecutor Sabih Kanadoglu filed lawsuits for closure of seven political parties.
Sources said on Tuesday that Kanadoglu sent his indictments about the closure cases to the Constitutional Court.
In his indictments, the Chief Prosecutor said it had been determined that the Revolutionary Socialist Workers' Party, Turkey Is Happy With Its Handicapped People Party, Justice Party of Turkey, Justice Party, Great Justice Party, Main Path Party and Turkish Socialist Workers' Party had not joined the general elections on April 18, 1999 and November 3, 2002.
He said those parties had not administratively fulfilled conditions of participation in those two consecutive general elections, and closure case against those parties were filed under the Constitutional Court's decision and Article 105 of the Law 2820.
