ANKARA - Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu said on Saturday that efforts were under way for inclusion of KADEK among European Union's (EU) list of terrorist organizations.
Aksu, who spoke during the discussions of the budget allocated for Interior Ministry, said that they were working on a bill of repentance law.
Separatist terrorism threat had been rendered ineffective in Turkey, Aksu said.
Aksu noted that the emergency rule which had been extended since July 19, 1987 in the east and southeastern Anatolia regions, was lifted as of November 30, 2002.
The regions were turned into normal legal situation after the emergency rule had been lifted, Aksu stated.
Aksu said that the three months that had passed after the lifting of the emergency rule showed that ending the emergency rule had not caused any problems in fight against terrorism.
International understanding and cooperation were obligatory for a successful fight against terrorism, Aksu pointed out.
Aksu said that efforts were under way for inclusion of KADEK to the terrorist networks list of the EU, which had added DHKP/C and PKK to the same list.
Every measure had been taken for efficient fulfillment of duties of defense, civil defense and security forces in case of a possible war, Aksu noted.
Aksu stated that equipment which could be needed in case of a possible operation had been provided and necessary personnel had been assigned.
Measures had been taken for a possible inflow of refugees in Turkey, Aksu added.
