Arinc: Ocalan's Trial Was Made Fairly And Impartially

BALIKESIR - Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc said on Saturday that trial of Abdullah Ocalan, the head of the terrorist organization, had been made fairly and in an impartial way.
Arinc held a news conference in Balikesir where he came to take ''The Best Parliamentarian of 2002'' award.
Responding to a question, Arinc said he did not find the decision of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) regarded with the head of the terrorist organization, as right.
Stating that Turkey had the right to apply ECHR more than 10 years, Arinc said jurisdiction authority of ECHR was accepted. Arinc said, ''whether or not we like, this is a right. Such a decision had been issued as a result. In my opinion, this is a wrong decision. Ocalan's trial was made fairly and impartially.''
Arinc said the 58th government, which was led by Abdullah Gul, administered the country successfully for four months, and that 59th government also has a skillful cadre.
When a journalist said, ''there are Northern Iraq and motion on the agenda,'' Arinc said the motion was the assignment of the government, and that the government could make such a proposal whenever it found appropriate.
Speaking about the problem pertaining to Iraq, Arinc said efforts were underway to cause the minimum loss to Turkey, and to solve the problem through peaceful means.
