T.G.S.D. President Oran To Demand Fair And Ethical Trade With United States

ISTANBUL - Turkish Ready-to-wear Industrialists' Association (TGSD) Chairman Umut Oran will attend Turkish-American Business Council meeting in Washington between March 17 and 19.
A statement of TGSD said on Saturday that Oran would demand fair and ethnical trade with the United States by showing the quota and high customs tax imposed on Turkish textile and ready-to-wear products in the session on special trade agreements and textile.
Oran said, ''the United States is imposing quota on Turkey but Turkey does not impose quota on the United States. Customs tariffs imposed by the United States on Turkey is four-folds of those Turkey imposed on the United States. If we are strategic partners, we don't deserve this.''
That situation should be corrected, Oran added.
