ANKARA - Treasury Undersecretariat held an auction on Tuesday to sell 546-day discounted debenture bonds denominated in U.S. dollar.
The total bid had been 287.4 million U.S. dollars while the Treasury sold 199.4 million U.S. dollars of nominal-valued bonds. The net sale became 180.5 million U.S. dollars.
The composite interest rate became 6.88 percent and the simple interest rate was 7 percent.
The value date of the bonds is March 12, 2003 and maturity is September 8, 2004.
Treasury held two auctions on March 4 to sell 217-day bonds and 364-day debenture bonds.
In the first auction, Treasury sold 477.7 trillion Turkish liras (TL) nominal-valued 217-day bonds although total bid had been 589.7 trillion TL. Net sale was 363 trillion TL while 23 trillion TL of these bonds were sold to public.
In this auction, the composite interest rate became 58.50 percent and simple interest rate became 53 percent.
In the second auction, Treasury sold 2 quadrillion 682.1 trillion TL nominal-valued 364-day debenture bonds although total bid had been 3 quadrillion 702.9 trillion TL. Net sale was 1 quadrillion 650.5 trillion TL while 289.3 trillion TL of these debenture bonds were sold to public.
In this auction, the composite interest rate became 62.50 percent and simple interest rate became 62.50 percent.
Meanwhile, Treasury will repay 544.6 trillion TL in domestic debt and 620.4 million U.S. dollars in external debt this week.
