STRASBOURG - The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) will announce its decision about application of lawyers of Abdullah Ocalan, the head of terrorist organization PKK, on Wednesday.
During the hearing on November 21, 2000, the ECHR listened to views of the Turkish government and lawyers of Ocalan.
The ECHR decided on December 14, 2000, to take the application of Ocalan onto its agenda. In its application, lawyers of Ocalan claimed that Turkey had violated Articles 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14 and 18 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
After announcement of the decision, the sides will have the right to raise their objections and to apply to the Grand Chamber of the ECHR.
