U.S. State Department Assistant Secretary Dewey Arrives In Ankara

ANKARA - Arthur Dewey, the U.S. State Department Assistant Secretary for Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration arrived in Ankara on Tuesday.
Dewey, who made a brief statement at Ankara's Esenboga Airport, pointed out that he came to Turkey together with a delegation comprised of officials of various departments of the U.S. State Department, and noted that he would hold contacts regarding humanitarian dimensions of the possible action against Iraq.
When asked whether or not cooperation pertaining to humanitarian aid would continue in case the motion, regarded with deployment of the U.S. soldiers in Turkey can not be passed from the Parliament for a second time, Dewey said humanitarian aid should be kept separate from the political issues.
Dewey said their target was to prevent migration and to work in cooperation with the United Nations.
Dewey will hold contacts in Foreign Ministry, General Staff and Red Crescent on Wednesday.
