Tuzmen: Turkey's Foreign Trade Strategy Is A State Policy

RIYADH - State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said on Tuesday that Turkey's foreign trade strategy was a state policy which would not be affected by changes in politics and bureaucracy.
Tuzmen, who continued contacts in Saudi Arabia, replied to questions of Turkish reporters.
State Minister Tuzmen stressed that this policy which had been beneficial to Turkey and the whole region would serve world peace.
Tuzmen said that foreign trade targets of Turkey would be permanent and listed foreign trade institutional structure as trade delegations, Joint Economic Commission (JEC) meetings and international fairs.
''It is obvious that relations with these countries were not at the desired level until three or four years ago maybe due to some conjunctural reasons. We have common ties with these countries. All the region faced problems due to the vacuum which occurred after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. These problems still continue. We have to fill this gap by commercially. We have to form a model in the region which will serve world peace. We are exerting efforts to serve this aim,'' Tuzmen added.
