ANKARA - Justice and Development Party (AK Party) leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan received on Sunday U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Robert Pearson.
The meeting at the AK Party headquarters lasted for about 3.5 hours.
State Minister Ali Babacan and Foreign Minister Yasar Yakis were also in attendance at the meeting.
Responding questions of journalists following the meeting, Pearson said that they had held a meeting to remove possible misunderstandings.
Noting that he did not come to the AK Party headquarters to negotiate, Pearson said that some issues were clarified during the meeting.
Pearson said that Erdogan and he had talked about all issues in detail.
He said that political, economic and military negotiations between Turkey and the United States had been continuing.
When asked whether or not the Prime Ministry motion on dispatch of Turkish soldiers abroad and deployment of foreign armed forces in Turkey was brought onto agenda of the meeting, Pearson told reporters that the motion was not taken up.
